The Special Needs Section and Program is currently recruiting a physician to join our team of 4 physicians, 6 nurse practitioners, 9 nurse care coordinators and 9 care coordination assistants as well as research and administrative staff. The Special Needs Program provides care coordination and medical co-management for a growing number of children with medical complexity and high resource use. Candidates best suited for the position will combine the clinical experience and proficiency needed to care for children with medical complexity with the skills needed to contribute to developing and evaluating new models of care for the complex care population. The ability to work well with families and a multidisciplinary team is essential. Participation in outcomes-based research is expected along with the potential for further protected time for health services research, and participation in Leadership and other academic opportunities are available based on candidate interests and qualifications. Experience in caring for children with medical complexity is an asset. Applicants for a full time position are preferred, but those seeking a part time position will be considered.
