Are you a self-motivated board certified/board eligible pediatrician that is passionate about providing care to adolescents enrolled in public and non-public schools in NYC?
Adolescent School Health Physician Responsibilities:
Improve the health of school children through clinical and public health work
Support the development and implementation of medical initiatives that promote positive health behaviors and outcomes in the adolescent population
Reduce high risk behaviors
Provide medical care and public health services to adolescents through Office of School Health programs and initiatives
Work with the innovative Connecting Adolescents to Comprehensive Health Care (CATCH) Program, which provides select reproductive health services to adolescents in select NYC high schools.
Serve as a consultant to the school nurse and administration on school health related concerns
Provide clinical assistance in the event of an environmental or communicable disease occurrence
Physicians who have completed residency training in the following are also encouraged to apply: Preventive Medicine, Social Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine, Community Medicine, Family Practice, or Med-Peds . Training in community health or public health a plus. 10- or 12-month assignments are available.
