The Vice President of Operations directs practice management activities for HealthTexas Provider Network (HTPN) to include operations for all aspects of assigned physician practices in the field of cardiovascular services. This role reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and serves as a liaison with HTPN corporate departments, Baylor Scott and White Health departments, and outside parties. Key responsibilities include:
Improves organizational performance by identifying opportunities for operational improvement and establishes/recommends processes for operational excellence.
Monitors the overall financial performance and physician compensation of assigned practices to ensure fiscal soundness through revenue growth and cost containment strategies.
Maintains effective communication with assigned practices and provides assistance with contractual, compensation, operational, human resource, financial, and other practice management needs.
Develops and monitors systems to achieve customer satisfaction and quality patient care.
Develops and achieves strategic long- and short-term goals for HTPN in consultation with CAO, President Administration and Physician Board.
Oversees the development of recruitment and growth plans for assigned practices and ensures smooth integration of new physicians and practices into HTPN practice operations.
Coaches and develops direct reports to build and maintain a highly competent and professional physician practice management team, capable of delivering exceptional service that meets business requirements.
Provides collaborative advice in a supportive but direction setting manner. Thinks strategically but able to provide hands-on guidance in the tactical, day to day activities, leading to sound recommendations and best practice outcomes. Leads employees through the change process by providing direction for successful performance during times of transition.
The successful candidate will possess:
Masters degree required, specifically MBA or MHA
Practice management experience in the cardiovascular services area.
8+ years of experience in managing multi-specialty or primary care practices with 10 or more practices in scope of authority and progressive leadership responsibility
5 to 8 years of experience in managing profit and loss statements, capital expenditures, and practice budgets in excess of $35 million.
Stellar interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to all levels of practice staff and operational partners
Participation in professional organizations and pursuit of additional certifications such as AMGA , MGMA , or FACMPE a plus
