340B Health has an opening for a SVP of Communications at our growing non-profit health care trade association. This position reports to the President and CEO. The SVP is the lead communications strategist and oversees all communications, including: to 340B Health members and staff, the Administration, Congress, policy makers, the media, researchers, stakeholders, and the public.
The individual will be the chief communications strategist developing a wide range of communications materials for both internal and external audiences such as talking points, news releases, advocacy resources, digital content and more. The individual will be the media point person for 340B Health, developing and maintaining relationships with the press. The individual will:
Serve as the lead spokesperson for the organization
Develop the communications strategy for the organization
Oversee social media for 340B Health and related accounts
Oversee the organization’s internal publications
Lead and manage the communications department
A Bachelor’s degree is required (Master’s Degree preferred) with a strong background on Capitol Hill, journalism or equivalent experience. Minimum of 15 years’ experience in communications and/or public policy with a strong knowledge of health care and health policy.
Requires a demonstrated track record of success developing and managing communications strategies and campaigns, and developing effective publications, websites and social media.
The candidate should have experience leading a team and working closely with partners, stakeholders and contractors. The candidate should have excellent oral and written communications skills. Some travel is required.
