The Beckley VA Medical Center is seeking two Optometrists. This wonderful opportunity provides you the opportunity to care for Veterans in the following:
Provide diagnosis, management, and treatment of Veterans that are within the scope of optometric practice and credentials.
Treat pathology and injuries of the eye and adnexa using therapeutic medicines.
Use knowledge and understanding of advanced optometric procedures and instrumentation techniques and their applications in the detection and treatment of unusual visual deficiencies (i.e., cycloplegic and manifest refraction, biomicroscopy, direct and binocular indirect opthalmoscopy).
Monitor the maintenance of ophthalmic equipment and instruments.
Work schedule: Monday Friday, 8-4:30 p.m. (No weekends)
United States citizen
Degree: Successful completion of a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) accredited by the Council on Optometric Education.
Licensure: Current license to practice Optometry in a State, District of Columbia, or a territory is required.

Medical License:A clean, valid medical license from any US State or Territory is all that is required to practice medicine in a VA Federal Hospital anywhere in the nation.
Salaries:VA Providers salaries are determined by a compensation panel of physicians at the facility where you practice medicine. VA salaries are very competitive and are based on physician salaries of the local market, your experience and credentials as a physician.
