The Executive Director is accountable for ensuring the effective implementation of all approved strategies, tactics, policies and procedures in all clinics that comprise the Pullman Regional Hospital Clinic Network (PRHCN). The Executive Director accomplishes this responsibility through the development and effective management of a team of practice administrators/managers and network support staff. The Executive Director also monitors the performance of internal and external vendors.
This position reports directly to the CEO of Pullman Regional Hospital and indirectly to the Network Operations Council (NOC) of PRHCN.
Excerpts from Primary Duties:
Ensures that the network engages in an annual operational planning process to identify those initiatives that will support strategy, as approved by the NOC. The planning process will include initiatives in the areas of group practice development, practice building, human resource management, operations management, information resources, financial performance, accounting, physical plant and equipment, as well as management development. Ensures the preparation and implementation of Quarterly Action Plans as approved by the NOC.
Supervises, develops and motivates a skilled team of practice administrators/managers. Ensures that each clinic is assigned an effective administrative leader that partners with physicians, other providers, and staff to ensure optimal performance in all areas of care and service delivery, as well as operations and financial stability.
Ensures the strategic, operational and financial success of the clinic network, each of its clinics and each of the physicians and other providers. Accountable to the NOC for the financial performance of each clinic site and for the network, according to specific performance targets.
Works with the CMO for the strategic development of the employed clinic network, including oversight of the physician/provider recruitment process and practice acquisition.
Provides oversight of the revenue cycle management process and the Business Office Director for all aspects of professional fee billing. Represents the network in its relationships with government agencies and third-party payers. Conducts annual payer contracting review and negotiations.
Oversees the annual operating and capital budget preparation, review and approval.
Skills and Abilities:The Executive Director shall possess well-developed leadership and management skills, physician relationship and interpersonal skills, verbal and written communications, team building, collaboration, organizational assessment, decision-making, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Demonstrable understanding of and commitment to the mission and objectives of the organization.
Education: Master’s degree in business or health care administration preferred. Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, business administration or related field required.
Experience:Ten years of progressive operations management experience. Five years of operations management experience as an executive in ambulatory care or physician practice management required. Familiarity with rural health care markets preferred. Clinic network experience preferred.

Pullman Regional Hospital Clinic Network is located in Pullman, WA and is a subsidiary of Pullman Regional Hospital consisting of four medical practices and a centralized billing office. The network owned practices include Palouse Pediatrics, Palouse Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, Palouse Heart Center, and Pullman Family Medicine. There are 21 physicians and practitioners in the network serving the residents of Pullman, Moscow, Lewiston, and Clarkston and the surrounding areas.
