Ensures Aetnas business objectives are achieved by driving execution of Enterprise product strategy nationally. Develops recommendations and/or influences strategic direction of Aetnas Small Group and Middle Market standardized medical portfolios. Accountable for prioritization of work nationally and across multiple market segments to support the companys business strategy and value proposition. Uses knowledge of Health Care Industry, legislative environment, local markets and Enterprise goals to anticipate and plan for changes known and unknown and adapt strategy, staffing and execution plans as needed.
Drives strategic direction, simplification&execution of Aetnas Small Group and Middle Market medical portfolios
Sets guidance for benefit standards and department policies that ensure compliance and enable profitable growth and/or retention of Aetnas membership
Drives proactive solutions/barrier resolution with multiple internal stakeholders to enable effective management of product portfolios/Enterprise initiatives and deliver profitable growth
Communicates and consults with Local Markets to ensure that product initiatives focus on long term results/earnings and represent all constituencies effectively (e.g. segments, consumers, providers)
Represents team with senior leaders cross-functionally
Monitors product performance by assessing results on an ongoing basis
10+ years experience in Healthcare and/or Employee Benefits arena.
Effective communication/influencing skills applied to broad internal/external audience.
Demonstrated success with process improvement and project management initiatives.
Demonstrated understanding of technology and how it can be applied to solve business problems/provide technical solutions.
Product development and/or management experience preferred.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
